Fun times & new resolutions

So yesterday we had a birthday party for my dear friend Bailey. It was so nice to head to Edmonton and just hang out with my friends like old times. It's also very nice to see people change and grow. My friends are amazing. I've never seen a group of people who can have so much fun no matter when we are together.

We started off the day with a potluck. It was great. Everyone (except me) brought their favorite childhood dish. It was so awesome... and to finish off the meal we all had really yummy birthday cake and Bailey opened her presents (I didn't even bring a card, I'm a terrible friend). And then proceeded to play a lovely and very fun game of hide and seek. I love when you can get a bunch of 19-30 year olds together and we can still have fun playing a childhood game like hide and seek. It was great.

After that we hung out and visited and played random in the house games.. such as four on the couch... which really creates the most feminist/Male Chauvinist attitudes come out of the most unexpected people. After that we headed to a movie... which was actually a really dumb movie. (Liscense to wed) Don't waste your money. If you absolutely have to see it ... go to the cheap theatre. It's only 3.50 there. haha.

But the point I am getting to... Is things don't need to be planned. You just need to be with friends, and fun things happen. I think this is what I miss about King's most. In Bonnyville... everyone has lives... we don't just randomly show up on eachother's door steps and say.. hey let's go do something now... It's like ok.. we're gonna go for a walk on tuesday, we're gonna do scrapbooking friday... don't get me wrong it's great. But I really do miss the spontaneity of my college friends. And for that... I really appreciate them. It's like being in Saskatchewan... Well at least where my relatives are. We just jump in the car and show up on people's door steps.. if they are home we stay and visit, If they aren't, we just carry on to go see the next random person.

I think I need spontaneity in my life. I tend to be a boring girl, who only does what is planned and then quite often ends up sitting at home doing nothing. Which is absolutely terrible. I need to be more comfortable with my friends in Bonnyville and call them and be like hey... let's do something tonight... Rather than always waiting for them to call me. It just doesn't work that way. So... I'm gonna start making a concerted effort to do more fun things in Bonnyville. Instead of saving all the fun stuff for when I go to edmonton, because some day... all my college friends are all gonna be settled all over the place, in random parts of the country... province... world. So... why not build awesome comfortable relationships with my friends who I know will not be moving anytime soon.
