Each one of us has something to be thankful for. SO often we let pride get in the way and forget that God has blessed us even if life is difficult. It might be one person, it might be many, it might be your dog, your child, your neighbor, but regardless, God has put someone in your life that is a blessing.
We waste so much of our lives saying "why me?" Instead of looking around and saying "why not me?" I know this sounds cliche, but it's true. We are the people we are because of the trials we go through. We need to remember that all things come together for good, and that there are reasons, sometimes it's so we can rise above it, sometimes, it's so we can learn to accept it, and sometimes it's not about us, sometimes we are put in a place not necessarily because it is best for us, or that we are reaching our fullest potential, but because we are reaching our fullest purpose.
Purpose is something that as Christians, we often look at, but I think sometimes we get so tangled in thinking what our purpose is, that we forget that our purpose affects others, it affects everyone around us, and it's important for us to remember how greatly we impact those who love us, sometimes we impact those who don't even know us, because we don't know what their story is, and we can be quite insensitive. Our purpose is to be selfless and that is what we need to remember, to be Christlike, and he loved us so much that he died for us. How great a love? How selfless an act?
I challenge everyone to be as kind as possible, as selfless as possible, and to remember that sometimes people don't know any better, we are called to love them anyway. Happy Easter my friends!
