I remember last summer when I went to visit and we had only recently found out that her cancer had returned. I remember going out across the road and feeding the neighbors horses grass from the ditch. She felt so bad for those poor animals. I remember when I said goodbye, it was the tightest hug I'd ever recieved. A hug I'll never get again. I won't ever forget it.
This past weekend she was reading the birthday card I gave her, and she blew me a kiss saying thank-you and then asked me if I wanted a picture of her with the card. She knew it would be the last time I saw her, and she knew I needed that one last thing to remember. She was fussing after I took the picture that the card was in front of her face, and all I said is: "I can see your smile and that's all that matters!"As hard as it is to say goodbye to such a wonderful person, I know I will see her again someday. To my auntie Jeannette "I Love you, and I can't wait to see you again, someday!"
