Summer Lessons

I've been spending a lot of time with people the last couple days, I find my world is inside out and upside down yet completely stable. How that makes sense is beyond my knowledge. I've learned valuable lessons, I've spent time with invaluable people, and most of all I've learned that life is not about going through the motions yet it is about experiencing the wonderful, powerful, things that life has to throw at you.

I've learned things like:

1. Spend time with family & friends as much as you can cause one day you aren't going to have them. I spent a good portion of this week with several different members of my family and realized that I have so much to learn from all of them, sometimes we think we have life all figured out and NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can teach us anything, but I am realizing more and more that there are things i don't know, there are things I will never know and there are things that I will learn; perhaps sooner than later. Most of all, there are people who will teach us things and if we don't spend time with other people how can we experience true real life without them?? This is beyond my knowledge, because without people we live in an idealistic world that can be whatever we want it to be but until we experience true relationships with people we will never know what the "real" world is.

2. Don't ever think you have your life figured out. I had all these plans this summer to go here and there and everywhere and truth is, I barely left home, yet I spent so much time with people I don't typically have the time for and I learned so much. It is so important for us as individuals to realize that life doesn't always work out as planned, sometimes we just have to go with the flow and deal with whatever life throws our way. Life always has a way of throwing in the unexpected, and when it does, our world goes topsy turvy and there is nothing we can do about it.

Think about these important life lessons and remember that even when your life feels out of control. God is always IN CONTROL, so no need to worry. It'll all work out in the long run.
