I know that sounds like an awful title, but I think it's how most if us live our lives whether we want to admit it or not. I mean sometimes it's not blissful, sometimes the moments we're in are simply terrible, sometimes they're filled with boredom, anger, distraction, the list can go on but the point is we don't pay attention to the people around us.
While in our blissful ignorance we often miss our greatest opportunities to make a difference for someone else. It's not that we mean to be ignorant, we all like to think that we are aware of others in this world and that we make a difference to others. But truly honestly I think most issues in this world arise because of our selfish natures, our ability to be so consumed in our own lives that we don't realize that our ignorance is affecting the person next to us. Chances are their ignorance is affecting you too, but I believe our unawareness of this truly causes completely unnecessary conflict.
Is ignorance preventable? I don't think so, I think it's human nature. That's why God created forgiveness, he wanted us to have a way of rectifying our ignorance and accepting others ignorance. Forgiveness allows us to accept the fact that we are all ignorant. Apologies allow us to let another person know that we're aware we were ignorant and we are sorry for how that affected them.
Apologies & forgiveness allow the way we really feel to show. I'm not saying incessant apologies are necessary like I said there's bliss in ignorance. If we were aware of how every person was feeling everyday and fully aware as to how our actions were affecting them it would kill us. That's why ignorance is so blissful, but let us not forget that when we realize that our lack of attentiveness to those around us has hurt them we must apologize. Sometimes it's our joy that hurts someone, sometimes it's our pain sometimes it's just the fact that we're coping with the day and they aren't.
Remember every one of us is facing some battle, forgive easily, apologize quickly, and love deeply even if it means letting your friend have some time to them self.
